This hands-on workshop is designed to prepare you for work as a Production Assistant on a film or television set. Learn the essential responsibilities of a PA, set hierarchy, walkie-talkie use and lingo, professional set etiquette, and how to read and manage call sheets and sides.
Perfect for anyone looking to build their practical skills and confidence needed to succeed on set.
Lead by seasoned industry professionals, we will cover:
- Hands-on training with walkie-talkies and surveillance mics.
- All Production Paperwork.
- Production Terminology.
- Gear and Supplies.
- How to pack and unload a production truck properly.
- Set Protocol, i.e. “do’s and don’ts”.
- Other crew departments’ function and interactions
- Office P.A. (including sides and revisions).
- Staff P.A. Responsibilities.
- Film and TV versus Commercials/Videos/Indies.
- How to anticipate production needs.
- Lock-ups, Shout outs, Daily & Wrap duties.
- Where to find production jobs and navigate a career path.
Hosted at Lost Forty Studios, the schedule is as follows:

ATTENDEES MUST:
- Be over 18 years old at the time of the event (accommodations can be made with parental or legal guardian approval).
- Be able to lift over 25 lbs.

- Thrive in a highly social environment.
- Actively participate throughout the event.
